This 1922 article about meeting Arthur Conan Doyle in New York by a Detroit woman named D. K. E. likely files under gossip more so than current events but we'll take her word for it. Simply put, she wanted a meeting with the noted Spiritualist, novelist and creator of Sherlock Holmes and made it happen. In the brief moments she had with him he mentioned a friend in Detroit named Dr. Newman and his happy visit to the Yondotega Club. The when and why are to be determined but the seed is now there for exploration.
