Every story concerning dogs was a foreboding one for longtime Yondotega Club steward Scott Lewis and his entanglement with the oldest cur known to humanity, Cerberus, was no different. Mr. Lewis died while en route to California, presumably on a vacation trip. He is buried in Elmwood Cemetery with many of his fellow masters and servants from the establishment.
